Multi-passage rotary joints without leakage recirculation

GV series multiple-passage rotary joints are designed to supply rotating or swinging fixtures (work-holders) with pressurized oil.

These rotary joints can be coupled when pressurized and must be installed in the centre of rotation. A low torque is required for starting the rotating movement. GV multi-passage rotary joints do not require leakage lines as no internal oil leakage occurs.

To ensure a long service life of the internal seals, make sure to connect the rotary joint to all hydraulic supply ports. The operating temperature should not exceed 60°C. In addition, we recommend using oil filters with a 10 micron filter mesh.
GV rotary joints are made of heat-treated and ground high-quality steel. They are only suited for operation with hydraulic fluids, cooling lubricants must not be used.

The rotary joints GV8 – GV12 – GV16 can be operated with mineral oil or air; for use with other fluids, contact the HYDROBLOCK technical department.
To guarantee a long working life, all seals must be self-lubricating and thus they tend to release minimal amounts of oil: when both hydraulic and air ducts are used, if uncontaminated air must be guaranteed, consider maintaining an intermediate drainage duct between the oil and air ducts.
Rotary joints GV8 – GV12 – GV16 can turn when pressurized; however, to prevent seal slide tracks from overheating and drying out, never allow extended periods of rotation: seals are subject to severe wear when subject to stress while dry and this would prematurely compromise seal life. Avoid excessive lateral load on the joint body as the interface flange on the outer body serves only to prevent body antirotation and cannot support overhanging weights such as arms, pipes and various auxiliary accessories.
